In 2010 Jason built a brick pizza oven in his back yard. Here’s a glimpse of what that looks like ! Deana usually is the one to make the dough, (Joe would say it was like watching the miracle of the loaves and fishes she can produce so many). Jason fires up the oven a couple to three hours in advance to achieve just the right temperature. The party takes on many faces from there. There are ‘build your own’ pizza nights where an array of ingredients are set out for individual inspirations, sometimes there is a set variety they have decided on, and sometimes guests have called ahead with requests. Don’t be discouraged if your backyard isn’t equipped with a wood-burning oven, this home-made dough, and a pizza stone can come close and will also produce all kinds of fun for all ages. Below are some of the steps for the backyard versions and a few samples of pizza combinations you can try on your own.

Roll out the dough, and start to build your favorite pizza. It's helpful to build it on a wooden peel that has been dusted with semolina flour. This makes for easy transfer to your baking surface.
Here are some pizza inspirations:
Pesto sauce, slices tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, Fontina cheese, Parmesan cheese
Bar-b-que sauce, cubed chicken, mozzarella.
Alfredo sauce, cubed chicken, artichoke hearts, pepperoncini, red onions, Greed olives Feta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses.
Saute corn in butter, add shrimp at the last minute. This pizza has no sauce. Top with bacon and mozzarella.
Dessert pizza: Sliced apples, blue cheese and drizzled honey!
Baking time for all pizza's in your oven will be 6 to 9 minutes.
