Jeff’s Barbecue Baby Back Ribs

This is by far the best method of cooking barbecue ribs.  They will consistently come out juicy, tender, fall-off-the-bone delicious.  Give yourself plenty of time.  They cook three hours in the oven ( with no attention) and then about 15 minutes on the grill.

  1. Prepare ribs by removing the thin membrane covering the boney side of the slab. It should just peel off as shown but that doesn't always happen. You may have to use a paring knife to strip it off in bits and pieces. Just do your best.
  2. Place ribs on a rack in a large roasting pan. Season with your choice of seasoning salt or rub and salt and pepper.
  3. Pour chicken broth into roasting pan so it about 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep.
  4. Tent the pan with foil, making sure it is securely fastened around edge of pan so no steam escapes. Place in a 265 degree oven for 3 hours. You will know the ribs are ready when the meat is starting to pull away from the edge of the bones.
  5. Remove ribs from pan. They can sit for awhile allowing them time to be cool enough to touch. Cut ribs into individual pieces and place in a shallow bowl.
  6. Slather with barbecue sauce.
  7. Place on hot grill and cook and turn until grill marks show on the ribs and the sauce is set. It will get thick and sticky.
  8. Remove to a serving plate and enjoy! Provide lots of napkins!!!!
