Chicken a la King

This is an old time family meal.  A simple rue,  stirred around pepper and mushrooms and chicken and poured over biscuits or toast.  It’s easy, a good use of leftover chicken, or a cooked chicken from the deli, and it will warm your heart for sure.

  1. Melt butter in frying pan. Add green pepper and mushrooms and saute until tender. Stir in flour with the vegetables and butter until it forms a smooth paste. Slowly add milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly to make a white sauce. Stir in chicken and simmer until heated through. Lastly stir in small jar of pimento. Spoon over toasted biscuits or buttered toast halves.
