This is an old time family meal. A simple rue, stirred around pepper and mushrooms and chicken and poured over biscuits or toast. It’s easy, a good use of leftover chicken, or a cooked chicken from the deli, and it will warm your heart for sure.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup green pepper diced
- 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms sliced thin
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken cut in bite size pieces
- biscuits or toast 1 per serving
- 1 small jar pimento

Instructions
- Melt butter in frying pan. Add green pepper and mushrooms and saute until tender. Stir in flour with the vegetables and butter until it forms a smooth paste. Slowly add milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly to make a white sauce. Stir in chicken and simmer until heated through. Lastly stir in small jar of pimento. Spoon over toasted biscuits or buttered toast halves.
