This filling is very versatile. We have used it with fillo wrapped around it, or on a slice of French bread: ie, Bruschetta
It’s as good with fake crab as it is
with the real stuff! Save yourself some money 🙂
Preparation time: 30 minutes Cook time: 20 minutes, combined Difficulty: Makes 32
1 loaf thin-sliced sandwich bread
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Seafood Filling
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup grated Swiss cheese
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 drops Tabasco sauce
2 oz. cooked small baby shrimp
2 oz. cooked crabmeat, flaked
Pre-heat oven to 400. With a rolling-pin, flatten slices of bread. Using a 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter, cut 2 rounds from each slice Dip each round into melted butter or margarine, coating both sides Press into 1 1/2 inch miniature muffin cups Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven; cool in pans. Prepare Seafood Filling Fill each tart shell with filling. Sprinkle tops with paprika Place under broiler until golden and bubbly. Remove from pans Serve immediately
Seafood Filling: In a medium bowl, combine ingredients except shrimp and crabmeat. Mix until blended Carefully sir in shrimp and crabmeat.
