Florida Baked Beans

This recipe was given to us by a dear friend during our last stay in Florida, and so the name.

These quantities easily serves 8 to 10 , it is easy to multiply and good for pot-lucks for large crowds.  Actually our friend made it in 2 gallon batches that took 3 hours to cook and then took them to one of the refreshment stands at the High School football games. Our family likes it with ribs, or almost any bar-b-cue menu.

Prep time : 30 minutes  Cook time: 1 hour  Difficulty     Servings : 10 to 12

56 oz. Campbell’s baked beans, drained

1/2 cup chopped onion

3 oz. Grandma’s molasses

1 cup ketchup

1 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard

4 slices raw bacon, cubed

Drain beans, combine with all other ingredients in a 9″x 13″ baking pan.

Distribute bacon across the top of the beans

Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until bacon is cooked
